Advanced Life Support Level 2 (ALS2) – External Medical Enrolments (Non-WH employees)
Description: | The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Advanced Life Support Level 2 (ALS2) is a two-day course aimed at developing advanced skills in the management of the adult deteriorating patient and cardiac arrest management. The course is designed for healthcare professionals who would be expected to apply the skills taught as part of their clinical duties (e.g .MET and code blue responders), or to teach them on a regular basis. |
Target Audience: | The course is designed for healthcare professionals who would be expected to apply the skills taught as part of their clinical duties, or teach them on a regular basis. Appropriate participants include doctors and nurses working in critical care areas (e.g. emergency, ICU/HDU, anaesthetics/theatre, coronary care, acute admissions units, resuscitation/medical emergency teams), and paramedics. |

Airway Course for Critical Care & Emergency (ACE) has been specifically
designed for critical care and emergency trainees as well as for more senior
clinicians who want to refresh and practise their airway skills. In conjunction
with the faculty responsible for developing the highly successful National
Airway Training Course for Anaesthetic Trainees (NATCAT), Consultant Emergency
Physicians and Intensivists have developed this course to meet the specific
needs of airway practitioners in the emergency and critical care setting. Skills to be covered include:
All participants will have the chance to consolidate these skills in a series of fully immersive scenarios in the state of the art simulation centre using high fidelity SimMan 3G mannequins. ACE is unique in that this high fidelity simulation component comprises 25% of the whole course. |
